U.K. Sculptor Creates Mustang 50 Year Limited Edition Pieces

NORWALK, Ohio - Amongst all of the variations of Ford Mustang art, this one certainly takes the cake. The iconic pony car has officially become a piece of fine art in light of the 50 Years of Mustang celebrations. A U.K. Sculptor Creates Mustang 50 Year Limited Edition Pieces to tribute the success of the well-known sports car. Robin Bark, a U.K.-based artist, has been licensed by Ford Motor Company to develop this limited edition sculpture. As Bark's first American car sculpture, the Ford Mustang brought on a unique challenge. 

After shaping an initial model in clay, Bark then transfers the fundamental shape into a resin version. This polishes to work out how the light reflects off of the contours. The resin model is then the pattern to create an aluminum prototype. Bark focused on the iconic design, using little detail so that the features would not distract from the fundamental shape of the car. Once Bask is fully satisfied with his work, he ships the resin model to a specialist casting pattern maker. Each casting is polished to perfection then signed and numbered by the artist before being placed into a commemorative wood box.
