2015 Expedition is More Tech Savvy, Stylish and Capable Than Ever

Responsibilities

* Automotive Technicians diagnose and repair vehicle automotive systems including flushes, oil changes, etc. * Automotive Technicians provide labor and time estimates for additional automotive repairs * Automotive Technicians explain mechanical diagnoses and required repairs in a non-technical manner to service advisors and customers * Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions in order to stay abreast with rapidly changing technology. * Inspect and test new vehicles and recording findings so that necessary repairs can be made.

Requirements

* Meeting dealership sales goals. * Demonstrating vehicles (includes test drives). * Backing up F&I when necessary * Reporting to the vehicle Sales Manager regarding objectives, planned activities, reviews and analysis. * Keeping up-to-date of incoming inventory, features, accessories, etc., and how they benefit customers. * Attending sales meetings and training offered by the dealership and the manufacturer. * Maintaining a prospect development system and continuously growing the a sales network of repeats and referrals. * Understanding the terminology of the automobile business and keep abreast of technological changes in the products.

Ford Honors Former CEO with "Alan Mulally Leadership in Engineering Scholarship" Program

NORWALK, Ohio - Ford will honor their former CEO with the "Alan Mulally Leadership in Engineering Scholarship"; a $1 million program that will provide financial assistance to students pursuing a degree in automotive engineering. Alan Mulally not only had an engineering background and data-driven decision making, but he also brought a whole new level of leadership to Ford Motor Company. This is why Ford is not only looking to honor exceptional engineering students, but also those who will successfully lead the next generation within the industry.

The Alan Mulally Leadership in Engineering Scholarship program will run for 10 years, beginning in the spring of 2015. Each year, the Ford Fund will give $10,000 scholarships to 10 outstanding sophomore or junior engineering students at premier partner universities from around the globe. Ford Motor Company and Ford Motor Company Fund will both be making $500,000 contributions to help fund the scholarship program. 

The Ford Fund will be managing the program as apart of its "Ford Blue Oval Scholars" initiative. All of the the students who receive the scholarship will be connected with Ford's corporate science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) strategic initiative. With the help of these scholarship programs, Ford education efforts are supported and can be further utilized to develop a new generation of STEM leaders.

F-150 Named America's "Most American" Vehicle

NORWALK, Ohio - For the second year in a row, the Ford F-150 was Named America's "Most American" Vehicle by Cars.com's annual American-Made Index. The ranking of the most American-made vehicles takes three main factors into account to determine just how "American" the cars are: domestic-parts content, final assembly point and overall vehicle sales. Being that the Ford F-150 holds the "America's Best-Selling Vehicle" title, it should really come at no surprise that the truck held the top spot as the "Most American-Made" vehicle.

As we mentioned before, as important as the contents of the vehicle are, part of the ranking depends heavily on vehicle sales. The high demand for the F-150 makes for a busy work week for Ford employees working at both the Dearborn, Michigan and Claycomo, Missouri Ford factories, where the F-Series trucks are produced. Employees spilt three shifts, totaling 120 hours of F-Series production time per week. As roughly 60 F-150s crank out every hour to meet customer demand, it only makes sense for Ford to have a majority of the truck parts produced domestically.

Ford China Sales Soar Past Half-Million Mark

NORWALK, Ohio -Just six months into 2014, Ford China Sales Soar Past the Half-Million Mark and increase total sales 35 percent from this time last year. Ford China has sold 549,256 vehicles since the start of 2014, proving that the China growth plan is well on its way to full blown success. Ford China has been working purposefully on increasing capacity, growing their sales network and hiring outstanding employees to deliver high quality, safety, fuel efficient and smart technology to China customers. 

Ford China Sales Soar Past Half-Million Mark thanks to the high demand of a few special Ford vehicles. The Focus, Kuga, Mondeo and EcoSport have been hot ticket items, contributing to the 17 percent sales increase in June with 87,783 total vehicles sold! The Ford Kuga and EcoSport SUVs increased their sales by 78 and 103 percent; selling 66,225 and 33,403 units. The Ford Mondeo saw a massive 124 percent increase since the first half of 2013, selling a total of 59,726 vehicles. Of course, the ever popular Ford Focus nameplate led CAF sales, Ford's passenger joint car venture, for the start of 2014 with 201,464 units sold. Roughly 33,614 of those Focuses were sold during the month of June.

Alongside selling vehicles left and right, Ford also opened its US $350 million transmission plant in Chongqing last month. The CAFTP, Changan Ford Transmission Plant, is the first transmission plant within the Asia Pacific region and is expected to produce 400,000 units a year to meet the demands of all Chinese consumers.

Fourth of July Festivities Around Town

NORWALK, Ohio - What are you plans for Independence Day? There are plenty of exciting events and activities happening in and around Norwalk this weekend. Thursday, July 3rd:
You can get an early start celebrating America's birthday on Wednesday at Oak Harbor's Independence Day Celebration in its downtown area. There will be entertainment, giant inflatables, duck races on the Portage River, kid's games, a 50/50 and a beer tent. At dusk there will also be a huge fireworks display!

Friday, July 4th:
Join us at the Norwalk Lion's Club 44th Annual Fourth of July Parade on Friday at 10:30 AM! The parade will start at the intersection of Wooster and East Main Street and end at the south parking lot of the Huron County Fairgrounds. 

There will also be a day-long Independence Day event in Port Clinton. The old-fashioned Ice Cream Apple Pie and Hot Dog Social event will have a Star Spangled Squirt Gun Run, walk and 5k, a classic car show, Firecracker cutie contest, Voices of Freedom concert and dance party and ends with a great fireworks show at dusk.

Cedar Point's annual firework spectacular takes place at dusk on both Friday, July 4th and Saturday, July 5th. 

Saturday, July 5th:
Huron's Red, White and Blues Bang Fireworks will be at dusk at the Huron Boat Basin.
