The NHTSA awarded the '15 Edge with a five-star Overall Vehicle Score in its New Car Assessment Program, the highest award available. A showcase of Ford innovation, the new Edge sets precedent for Ford utility vehicles moving forward.

The new 2015 Ford Edge comes loaded with new technologies and is completely reengineered from the ground up, offering three engine options, two of which are brand new. These two new engine options were made available for a completely enhanced driving performance, while other upgrades include a slew of safety and driver-assist technologies that help with the driving task.

JD Shanahan, Chief Engineer for the Edge states that "the new Edge delivers on the quality and handling customers have come to expect from a Ford vehicle, while infusing more innovation and advanced technology to create a vehicle that we think will maintain its leadership position in its segment." NORWALK, Ohio – To spur innovation, Ford Motor Company joins with Tesla Motors to open up patents for its electric vehicles.  Company CEO Bill Ford explains that the best way to provide the best technology is through constant development and progress. By sharing their research with other motor and technology companies, Ford can and will accelerate the growth of electrified vehicle technology.

While Ford CEO is being heavily applauded for his decision, for Tesla CEO the decision originally raised some eyebrows and doubts within the company.  Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla stated, "Technology leadership is not defined by patens, which history has repeatedly shown to be small protection indeed against a determined competitor, but rather by the ability of a company to attract and motivate the world's most talented engineers." To spur innovation, Ford Motor Company joins with Tesla in this idea of shared technology.

By opening up their EV (electric vehicle) patents to the public, Ford intends to put itself at the forefront of the electrified or hybrid vehicle race and also to give the brand an edge over it's main competitors, Fiat Chrysler and General Motors.  Currently, Ford Motor Company has over 650 EV patents and around 1,000 pending patent applications regarding electrification.

Tips For Safe Grilling

NORWALK, Ohio. - Is there anything better in the summer than the smell of hotdogs, hamburgers, steaks or ribs on the grill? It's hard to find an equal! With Memorial Day Weekend upon us, finally, TONS of people all over the country will be firing up the grill, but do you know what's NOT fun...having something catch on fire at your BBQ because you weren't following proper grilling safety guidelines! Trust us, you can promise a safe and enjoyable afternoon by following these tips for safe grilling!

• Propane and charcoal BBQ grills should ONLY be used outdoors.

• The grill should be placed well away from the home, deck railings and out from under eaves and overhanging branches. 

• Keep children and pets away from the grill area.

• Keep your grill clean by removing grease or fat buildup from the grills and in trays below the grill.

• NEVER leave your grill un attended. 

• Check your gas tank hose for leaks before using for the first time each year. 

• Keep a fire extinguisher within a couple of steps from your grill and KNOW HOW TO USE IT! 

• DO NOT USE A GRILL INDOORS. Just don't, it's not a good idea because grills release carbon monoxide, a deadly colorless, odorless gas.

The Center of Automotive Management has announced the winners after considering over 1,000 innovations from 50+ auto brands across 18 global automotive companies. The Ford Motor Company also took home awards for its semi-autonomous driver assistance systems including Active Park Assist and active City Shop.

Ford was named "Most Innovative Volume Brand 2015" and Joe Bakaj, VP of Product Development states; "Innovation has always been the lifeblood of Ford and it's more vital with the automotive industry entering a period of rapid technological advancement." Ford Shelby GT350 Leads The Pack For Precision Handling

This recently advanced suspension tuning on the Shelby GT350 and GT350R includes MagneRide dampers, which is a Mustang-first accessory for the brand. The one factor that makes this entire reformulation possible is the MagneRide dampers. The dampers control the spring oscillation in a vehicle's engine. They do this by "damping" the spring's natural tendency to oscillate by using hydraulic fluid. When an electronic current is passed through this hydraulic fluid, immediately an instantaneous adjustment of the suspension performance can be made. How does this make the GT350 and the GT350R easier to handle? While the adjustments are being made to the engine via the dampers, wheel position sensors can monitor motions THOUSANDS of times per second. Combine that with various other vehicle data and changes can be made to each corner every 7 milliseconds for optimum handling performance. In other words, the Ford Shelby GT350 leads the pack for precision handling and if you were ever in a high-speed chase for your life, the 2015 Ford Shelby GT350 or GT350R is definitely, with out a doubt the vehicle you want to be driving.
