Ford Begins Intensive Training Program for Upcoming F-150 Production

NORWALK, Ohio -It is a basic rule of economics that when consumers demand a product, a company must supply those demands. This is the exact case when it comes to the all-new Ford F-150, which has an average turnover rate of about 12 days on dealership lots. After a strong month of sales in January, Ford Motor Company needed to add 1,550 jobs so that they could successfully meet the consumer demand for the all-new pickup. Every one of the 8,000 skilled trades and production workers employed by Ford Motor Company have undergone training programs and those working on the toughest, smartest, most capable F-150 yet are no exception. Ford begins intensive training programs for the upcoming F-150 production at the Kansas City Assembly Plant, enhancing each worker's knowledge of the latest in advanced materials and forming and joining technologies. Considering that the all-new F-150 is one of Ford's most advanced vehicles, it is vital that more than 400 hours of in-class and hands-on courses be completed by workers so that they are able to learn the proper operation of the newest assembly equipment.

One of the most unique elements of Ford's intensive training program for upcoming F-150 production is the "train the trainer" model, which requires the workers to become subject matter experts on the new equipment and train the crew they work with on a daily basis. Thus far, the training program has help to successfully launch the all-new 2015 F-150 at the Dearborn Truck Plant in Michigan and will soon help the Kansas City Plant to begin production by the end of the first quarter of 2015. Together, the plants will have the ability to produce more than 700,000 Ford F-150 pickups per year for over 90 markets around the globe.

The Edge also features improved damping which gives the vehicle improved road-handling capability making for better control and sharper steering.

A new level of performance isn't the only thing that will set the 2015 Edge Sport apart from other utility vehicles out on the road. The 2015 Edge Sport has a more athletic and dominant shape than ever before and is complemented by standard LED taillamps and LED signature lighting. Inside of the Edge Sport are leather-trimmed sport seats with perforated sided inserts, ambient lighting, and metal-plated accents. The 2015 Edge Sport will also be available in three new colors - Electric Spice, Bronze Fire Metallic, and Magnetic. The 2015 Ford Edge Sport will go on sale this spring and will be offered in a new range-topping Titanium series, as well as the SE model and SEL series.

MyLincoln Mobile & Google Now App Offer Seamless Remote Vehicle Capabilities

NORWALK, Ohio - Android smartphone users, you are in for a real treat! Lincoln Motor Company's MyLincoln Mobile and the Google Now app are offering seamless remote vehicle capabilities, which will provide Android users with a new notification to help to remotely start their vehicle. 

MyLincoln Mobile and Google Now have joined together to offer seamless remote vehicle capabilities with help from an embedded modem available on the 2015 Lincoln MKC and MKZ, and coming soon to the 2016 Lincoln MKX.  The technology will give Lincoln owners the ability to start, unlock, lock, and locate their vehicle. One of the most impressive features, which is sure to be a favorite for those of us who face brutal winters, is the scheduled remote start. 

Remote starts can be programmed for particular times and days of the week with help from the Google Now service, which delivers a Now card that will suggest a remote start based upon the user's calendar. This means, if you are expected to be at a meeting at 12:30 p.m., a Now card will alert you prior to your departure and will prompt you to start your vehicle remotely. Once the remote start option is selected, the vehicle will warm up or cool off according to the in-vehicle temperature settings.

"Now cards" in the Google app will serve as predictive aids based upon user's past and preferred searches as well as their calendar. Now cards also provide other information on other topics including weather, traffic routes, and sports scores. Both the MyLincoln Mobile and Google services are optional and notifications can be turned off if desired.
