Ford China Sales Soar Past Half-Million Mark
NORWALK, Ohio -Just six months into 2014, Ford China Sales Soar Past the Half-Million Mark and increase total sales 35 percent from this time last year. Ford China has sold 549,256 vehicles since the start of 2014, proving that the China growth plan is well on its way to full blown success. Ford China has been working purposefully on increasing capacity, growing their sales network and hiring outstanding employees to deliver high quality, safety, fuel efficient and smart technology to China customers. 

Ford China Sales Soar Past Half-Million Mark thanks to the high demand of a few special Ford vehicles. The Focus, Kuga, Mondeo and EcoSport have been hot ticket items, contributing to the 17 percent sales increase in June with 87,783 total vehicles sold! The Ford Kuga and EcoSport SUVs increased their sales by 78 and 103 percent; selling 66,225 and 33,403 units. The Ford Mondeo saw a massive 124 percent increase since the first half of 2013, selling a total of 59,726 vehicles. Of course, the ever popular Ford Focus nameplate led CAF sales, Ford's passenger joint car venture, for the start of 2014 with 201,464 units sold. Roughly 33,614 of those Focuses were sold during the month of June.

Alongside selling vehicles left and right, Ford also opened its US $350 million transmission plant in Chongqing last month. The CAFTP, Changan Ford Transmission Plant, is the first transmission plant within the Asia Pacific region and is expected to produce 400,000 units a year to meet the demands of all Chinese consumers.
