NORWALK, Ohio. – The all-new 2015 Ford F-150 aced several
federal regulated crash tests, and was given the coveted top five-star rating
in its class! The new Ford F-150 shines
in crash tests, while GM’s new mid-size pickups only collected four-star
ratings. One of the main changes, if not the biggest, is the complete switch
from an all-steel frame to an all-aluminum frame, which gives the new 2015
F-150 a significant decrease in weight.
Automotive insiders were initially worried that this switch
to a lighter frame may compromise the safety features of the F-150, but they
couldn’t have been more wrong! The four-door Super Crew version of the full
size F-150 pickup, which accounts for around 70% of the model’s sales, was rated
at 5 stars overall and also received top marks for side and front crash
impacts.
Raj Nair, Ford group VP for Global Product Development said
that; “Our truck team worked together for years to deliver this accomplishment,
using an unprecedented combination of advanced materials throughout the all-new
Ford F-150. The 2015 model is engineered to be the safest F-150 ever created.”
It looks like the new
Ford F-150 shines in crash tests, which was NOT the case for the General
Motor’s truck lineup. Not only can your
