These awards from Edmunds.com recognize vehicles that have the highest projected residual values after five years based on their average True Market Value price when sold new.

The 2015 F-350 Super Duty received the Edmunds.com 2015 Best Retained Value Heavy Duty Truck Award while the 2015 Ford Transit Connect took the Edmunds.com Best Retained Value Commercial Van Award. With high retained valued models like these, Ford Motor Co. is placing it's stamp on being a dependable car brand, which is especially important to the younger generation of car buyers. Edmunds.com calculated that the average retained value after five years of ownership for the Transit Connect at 47% and 58.5% for the F-350 Super Duty, which is tested by evaluating the vehicles for the 2015 model year and had sales in February of 2015 that were at least 25% of the average unit sales for the model's market segment.

Ford Has Released Its Environmental Goals For 2015 To The Public

NOWALK, Ohio - Today, Ford Motor Co. released its 16th Annual Sustainability Report which highlights its exceptional achievement of several environmental goals. These achievements include Ford becoming landfill-free in all of its Mexico manufacturing facilities, the use of industry-exclusive REPREVE fiber in the all-new 2015 Ford F-150, which will divert more than 5 million plastic bottles from landfills, and– guided by the Ford Smart Mobility plan– the auto company's global mobility experiments are currently testing new ideas to address rising transportation challenges.

Ford has always strived toward being on the leading edge of changing the way the world moves, while also keeping a wary eye on the effect it has on the environment. Highlighting these trends is important and that's why Ford has released its environmental goals for 2015 to the public. Leading the report is Ford's achievement in reducing global waste-to-landfill by announcing that the Hermosillo Stamping and Assembly Plant attained zero waste-to-landfill status earlier in 2015, which gives the automotive company the distinction of now being 100% landfill free in all of its Mexican manufacturing plants and facilities. Due to this, Ford is now diverting 1.5 million pounds of landfill waste this year and every year moving forward.

Ford has released its environmental goals for 2015 to the public, and Andy Hobbs, director of Ford Environmental Quality Office stated, "Ford is proud that all of its manufacturing facilities in Mexico are sending zero waste to landfills." This is a project the auto company has been working on for a while, producing a 40% decrease of vehicle waste-to-landfill from 2007 to 2011, and seeks to have the same result from 2011 to 2016.

The New Lincoln Continental Could Be Made In Michigan

NORWALK, Ohio - Today we learned that Ford Motor Co. will not be building the 2017 Lincoln Continental at the same plant where it makes the MKS sedan, as originally thought. According to www.autonews.com, the new Lincoln Continental could be made in Michigan instead.

There has been no "official" word from Ford Motor Co. however, industry insiders believe the new Continental will be built in Flat Rock, Mich., alongside the Ford Fusion. This is because the Continental will be built on an extended version of the Fusion platform, whereas the MKS shares its underpinnings with the Taurus. The Flat Rock, Mich. plant, formerly run as a Mazda plant, is one of the few Ford plants in the United States with the ground capacity to build the new Lincoln model. It also builds the Mustang as well.

Currently, the Flat Rock plant is scheduled for four consecutive weeks, from June 15 to July 13,  of summer shutdown which would be the PERFECT time to update the machinery inside to be ready for the Lincoln Continental. This four-week shutdown is twice as long as the usual summer shutdown, with five Ford plants only scheduled for a one-week shutdown due to a high demand for the F-150 and Ford Explorer.

The new Lincoln Continental could be made in Michigan, which is exciting news to hear as Ford Motor Co. is investing A LOT of money into its many plants across the country, especially stateside. U.S Military Personnel Take The Mustang And F-150 Out In Germany

NORWALK, Ohio - The Overseas Military Sales Corporation and Ford Motor Company teamed up to host the first-ever Ford Driving Freedom ride-and-drive event for U.S military personnel stationed on bases across Europe. Current active military personnel got the exciting and unique opportunity to drive the award winning F-150 and Ford Mustang on the Hockenheimring racetrack in Germany. Since 1995 Ford has worked with the Overseas Military Sales Corporation to offer Ford and Lincoln vehicles for sale throughout the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Asia as well as some Navy Ships. 

Doug Walczak, Fleet Sales Manager to Ford Motor Company states, "The Ford Driving Freedom ride-and-drive event is designed to introduce the new 2015 Ford Mustang and F-150 to military personnel who are stationed on U.S bases across Europe. It's the first time the event has ever been held overseas." U.S military personnel take the Mustang and F-150 out in Germany and this exciting event reenforces Ford Motor Company's commitment to U.S military personnel around the world, and the F-150 trucks being driven at the inaugural event are among the first ever in Europe. 

The Hockenheimring track in Germany is the home to the exciting German Grand Prix. Ford Motor Company chose this location sue to its history and central location, and military personnel from U.S bases across Europe were invited to participate in the ride-and-drive event. Ford Motor Company looks at this event as a pilot event, and feels that due to its success it could be integrated into Ford's future product launches.
