The Ford Mustang is Headed Abroad!

The Ford Mustang is Headed Abroad!
NORWALK, Ohio - The Ford Mustang is headed abroad! Customers in more than 100 markets around the world will now be able to get behind the wheel of their very own pony car. Both left- and right-hand-drive configurations are being exported to meet the needs of customers in the United Kingdom, Australia, and South Africa. Shipments of the Ford Mustang are on their way to Asia as we speak, and will soon make their way to Europe in the middle of 2015.

The Ford Mustang is headed abroad, but not without proper preparation! All Ford Mustangs traveling overseas are expected to undergo a series of steps that ensure compliance with the vehicle standards in other countries. After Ford engineers perform specific work on the pony cars at the plant, they are then transferred to their respective port and visit the homologation center. All vehicles are equipped with proper customs documentation and tracking so that Ford is able to track the Mustang's progress and delivery to their new home.

Ford Motor Company is not only thrilled to have this iconic vehicle join the lineup overseas, but also that the company is able to create more jobs because of it! Ford has employed roughly 3,000 employees at the Flat Rock Assembly Plant in Michigan and has created an additional 100 jobs at the Port of Portland to support the exports to the Asia Pacific.
